Raising Kingdom Leaders

Hi friends and family!

I hope you all had a blessed and fun filled summer! The past month I have been settling back into my home here in Uganda. But of course, most of my time has been catching up on ministry work since I was in America last month. We have so many exciting things happening!

This past week at Amani Sasa we welcomed a new group into our women’s shelter. This is a 6-month program where the most vulnerable refugee/Ugandan women and mothers go through to find complete transformation and healing. This is the biggest group we have had so far including 11 single women, 7 mothers and 7 babies! They have already moved into the shelter and are undergoing counseling and skills training as they being to move out of the hurt into Gods healing. We are so excited to see all the things God has in store for their lives. Many of these women are coming from homelessness, without family, malnourished babies and carrying a lot of pain from their home countries. Please be praying for them as they are still in the beginning stages of healing but also for our shelter staff as they are ministering to these women and children every day.

There has also been some really exciting things happening at Khule Africa. We started discipleship and leadership classes! We have been working toward this launch date for months and are so excited to share it is finally here. I prayed and prayed 8 months ago for what God was asking of me. It didn’t make sense and it definitely didn’t feel comfortable. I was stretched beyond what I thought I was capable of. But it is so rewarding to see these 15 kids and 2 ministry leaders engaged and excited to grow as kingdom leaders. Words really can’t express the feelings I have experienced seeing this mission come into existence. This first class group we intentionally started with high school aged students. We did this in hopes they will step up and lead the younger kids within the ministry after graduating. Not all of these kids have the finances to go to school. It is my hope and desire to encourage each of them through the gospel and their own unique leadership skills that they are much more than their current situations.

I feel God sent us to this specific community to bring change to the broken. To put a stop to the culture of prostitution, drunkenness, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, broken families and poverty in a community that can be much more than that. I know God sent me here for someone. I do not know exactly who that person is but I don’t need to know. I am exactly where God called me and His will is going to be done.

If you would like to support what we are doing at Khule Africa please reference the link below. Your support will help us print books, materials, activities, notebooks, bibles, and so much more. My goal is to rise enough finances to have a formal graduation for these students that may never have the chance to graduate from anything. Will you stand alongside us as we build relationships and walk alongside these kids and ministry leaders?

As far as my personal update, I would love to ask you to devote some time in prayer for my personal journey here in Uganda. I have recently had a lot of things to fix on my car and it is unfortunately still not well. My apartment that I love so much has had some really big plumbing issues creating mold in my closets, floors and walls. I would hate for this situation to cause me to relocate. Please also pray for my finances and partnerships for the Journey to Kampala. Thank you for walking alongside me through this all. It is truly a blessing.

Please pray for families. Pray for peace. Pray for safety. Pray for friendships. Pray against addiction. Pray for new beginnings. Pray for the church. Pray for mentorship. Pray for protection. Pray for good health. Pray for continued wisdom from God. Pray for Uganda. Pray for America. Pray for faith. Pray to know God deeper. Pray for yourself.

With much love and many blessings,

Lexi Dingman
